SEVERELY BURNED.
DUNEDIN, January 20. Mrs Christina Murray, a woman of 34 years of age, on a visit to her mother, Mrs Murphy, of Leith Street, was admitted early this morning to the hospital suffering from severe burns. It appears that she had been reading in bed with a candle beside her and that she dropped off to sleep. The bedclothes caught fire and the household was awakened by the cries of Mrs Mirray's little daughter, who is acompanying her from the Home Country and who was sleeping in the same bed. As a result of inquiry this evening it was elicited that Mrs Murray was suffering severely from burns and shock, and her condition was serious.
