Mr R. Archibald, who. for the past six months has been attached to the staff of the Ashburton branch of the Bank of New !South Wales, has received word !ofi his transference to the Napier biianchl Mr Archibald expected to leave ■ Ashburton .to-day. :
At a meeting of •'the South' Canterbury District -Methodist' Synod held yesterday, the' Rev. -W. J. Elliott was appointed district representative at the 1914 Conference. It was agreed to recommend the re-appointment of the Rev. W. J. Williams as editor of the " Methodist Times." A sum of nearly £3000: has already, been raised in South Canterbury- for ■ the South Island Methodist'Orphaiiage. .'■.'■
