A NARROW ESCAPE.

WELLINGTON, November 26. A Gordon, a married man, 28 years of age, while unloading coal on the Wairuna this morning, fell between the wharf and the vessel into the ■* water. He sustained a dislocated shoulder, and. was removed to the hospital. His escape from a' more serious injury was very narrow, as had the vessel happened to close in on the wharf as he fell he would have been badly crushed.
