A CHARGE DENIED

In the libel action, Denham against Ferricks, defendant denied that when returning thanks at the declaration of the poll he' charged Denham with using the Government's money to fight the Labour Party. What he said was that public money had been used. He referred to Denham's use of special trains.
Witness, cross-examined, said: "I am certain the paper had not reported the remark accurately. I never troubled to correct mistakes made by the Press." He quoted transactions of Denham Brothers to show that the present system .• of) distribution was a large factor in the increased cost of living.
