Mr John Snbdgrass, who has been manager of the! B^ank ,of..New Zealand at Napier for 'jbhie past six or seven years, ancl was iprevioiisly manager of the Ashburton ": branch, will retire in June next,, and will settle on some land fit Tauranga. Mr Snodgrass has been in the service of the Bank for 40 years.

The Rev. H. B. Hughes, M.A.,, of Hastings, has accepted a imanimous invitation to the pastorate of the Ashburton Baptist Church. Mr Hughes has been in charge of the church at Hastings for about four years, having inaugurated it in. 1909. He is expected to commence his ministry in Ashburton some time in March.
