CORRESPONDENCE.

THE S7OMEWALL.

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, —Being a constant reader of your valuable paper I cannot but express my great disappointment when i read your leader on The Stonewall. Any man with any sens* of fair play must realise that Massey and Co.' are trying to work the most-disgraceful political trick that was ever attempted in the political history of New Zealand, namely, the repeal of the Second Ballot Act—or to revert to minority rule. The country at present is in a state of turmoil. Capital and Labour are at war; and the Government, instead of enacting legislation or making some_»ffort to bring about a settlement of this unfortunate state of affairs, are trying to manufacture legislation to enable them to cling to office without commanding the majority vote. Surely Sir Joseph Ward and his followers' are justified in trying to block the most grievous political crime that was ever committed in the annals of modern politics. ,

LOVER OF FAIR PLAY Methven, November 22, 1913.
