LANDSLIDE NEAR GISBORNE.
THREE MEN KILLED

GISBORNE, October 16. At 8.30. this morning while excavation was proceeding at a reservoir site at Waingake, 20 miles from Gisborne, a landslide caused the timber work to give way and three men were caught in the tunnel. One, named Wilds, was extricated, but the others, named Fletcher and Houston, are reported to have been buried' in the debris. A gang is working hard endeavouring to effect their rescue.
