DOGS.
The exhibition of. dogs was an uncommonly good one, as compared with former shows, and in practically .every class thpre was strong competition, and the 'meritorious, points of the animals shown in some of th© classes were so even that the judge-.had no little dif- N ficulty in arriving at'his awards. Sodmj of the entries in the sheepdog classes were of-Oiigh merit, but in the absence of practical trials tho prizes not infrequently arc misplaced, and go to animals 4hat present an attractive appcaranco. The class for fox terrierscoutainod several, animals that would take a lot of beating at shows'in-larger centres, ;uul tho judge- rightly coin- . mentod upon Ihis fact. Tho cocker spaniel class was also strongly represented, and tho same remark is applicable to the quality of the dogs in the class for any variety o£ purebred dog* or bitches. Several,, of - the animals" 1 in ••', tho Initcr clasps, were' typical specimens of their breeds.
