ASHBUTTON STOCK SALE.

Tho following completes the. report of the Ash burton Live Stock 'Market held ' at the Tinwald yards yesterday. Tho particulars of the fat s>heop and cattle wore published yesterday. The yarding of stare sheep was i*gain a largo -one, numbering 970-1, as' against 5314 last week at Ashburton, and 10,007 tho previous week at Tin- ' wald. Tho yarding ""included 776 wether;;, and 1571 lambs, the balance being eyres. Of tho yarding of lambs wrory lino submitted was sold by auction, and competition was keen, but the whole yarding of wethers, with one exception, was passed. Tho competition for breeding eyres was again fairly good, but the number penned was far in excess of the demand, and 3247 i were passed by auction, though several were sold privately after the sale.-The j sale of store breeding ewes, taken 1 as aJ whole, was a good one, but it did n|ot come lip to the. ewe fair last Friday.' j On that occasion, at the fair, two-1 tooths-- 'brought?.- up" 'to 23s 3d, but the ] high-eat figure -yesterday was about. 19s 3d, for a lino- which was passed by auction. The total yarding of alii classes of sheep numbered 13,418, j against 7,522 for last week, and 12,839 j ■for the week before.
