ASHBURTON STOCK MARKET

Therc^was a large attendance and a very big' entry of all classes of sheep at the Ashburton live stock market htid at the Tinwald yards to-day. The prices for the fats wore good and competition was keen throughout. There was a large increase in tne number of fat sheep sent forward, 3714 being registered as against 2178 for last week. The yarding comprised 814. owes (503 -last week), '614 wciiiers (US last week) and 2586 lambs (IGG4 last week). Of Ihe yarding of fat ewes, freezing buyers took 348, ' butchers 2LI, graziers. 117 and 152 were passed. Of the wethers penned, the freezers took 293 and butchers 21. Freezing buyers took thu whole of the yarding of lambs at full market rates. The following are the .prices:—
