LORD ROBERTS'S TRAINING SCHEME.
Mr F. Acland (Parliamentary Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs), speaking at Tauntoh, said that it was legitimate to question Lord Roberts's statesmanship; although he did not question his ability as a general. If Lord! Roberts's training scheme was carried out on the German plan, it would cost an additional ten to fifteen' millions annually. Such a scheme would be horrißiy provocative and unnecessary.
