WEDDING.

FITTOCK— SHANN.

Quite a pretty wedding was solemnised at Methven on.the 20th infant the contracting parties being Mr J. B. Fittock and Miss Laura E. Shann, the daughter of one of Methven's oldest residents. The church was, beautifully decorated for the occasion, and 1 the Rev. Mr Morse officiated. The bnde, who looked radiantly happy, wore a charming dress of cream silk and the customary veil and orange blossoms, and was attended by Miss Nina Suann (her sister) as bridesmaid, while The bridegroom had his brother (Mr C. Fittock) as best man. Having been duly pronounced man and wife, an.l to the accompaniment of the "Welding March," an adjournment vas made to the Masonic Hall, where a bountiful afternoon tea was partaken of. The toast of the occasion was proposed by Mr W. J. Dickie, M.P, Uio spoke in, glowing terms of the admirable qualities of the bride and bridegroom, and wished them years of happiness ,and. prosperity. The toast was drunk with musical honours The bridegroom,, having suitably replied, the toast of "The . Bridesmaid" v<;is proposed by ,Mr: 0 Fittock, and responded .to- by the best man. Mr A. Murray, in proposing, the health of the bride" and bridegroom's parents, referred 'to the high esteem in vhich Mi" and Mrs Shann were held by the people of Methven. The Rev. Mr Morse, in a short address at the close of the proceedings, spoke of the bride as an earnest and conscientious -.worker, in the church, and said that her j,>!»<'o would be very hard to fill.
