DENIAL OF CHURCH INFLUENCE.
DUNEDIN, December 23. Interviewed this morning m regard to the allegation of the; exercise locally of the Catholic vote on behalf of Ministerial candidates. Father jGoffey gayfe it an absolute denial. In respect to the allegation concerning the election of the Hon. J. A. Millar, he said that not a single elector belonging to his 'church had been seen on behalf of the Minister by any priest or official of the church. He pointed out that when he referred m church to the General Election, he strongly advised all electors to vote for the men whom they believed to be the best to represent the. country. Not a single candidate's name was mentioned m any of their churches.
