PRIME MINISTER'S SILENCE.

WELLINGTON, December 22. An official announcement was issued to-day that Parliament is prorogued until January 10. The Prime Minister, when asked if this indicated that Parliament would meet next month, or if he would make a statement regarding tlie Government's intentions, replied thai he .would not be able; to do so until after the Christmas holidays.
