HIGH SCHOOL v. FAIRTON.
; A cricket match played on the Domain Oval .on Saturday afternoon between the Ashburton High School eleven arid the Fairton B team resulted in a win for the High School boys by 131 runs to 88 on the first innings. For the winners, Alexander (26) and T; Hampton (40) were the highest scorers, while Burgess (32) was* the most successful for the losers. Smart and Williams bowled well for the School. In their second innings the High School boys put up 142 for the loss of 7 wickets, Williams being responsible for 52 and McCallum for 24.
