ASH BURTON- GRAIN MARKET.
The following is the market report for the week ending Friday, "August lith, 1911:—- '
Wheat—A fair inquiry has prevailed during the past week, mostly on the part of merchants, who are in the market with a view to export.. Millers are riot: disposed to operate at advanced prices. The market is firm, and an advance on price:; ruling two weeks ago, may be recorded of from -|d to Id per bushel. Quotations:- —Prime Pearl, -and Velvet, 3s 4d; prime Hunters and Tuscan, 3s 3d to-3s 3|d. - : Oats—Practically no offerings ■ are being made by farmers, and business is almost confined to retail lines.
Chaff—For prime quality, merchants are buyers at. 77s 6d per'ton on rail, handy stations, but growersl are not disposed to accept this price, holding, out for £4 or over. .
