A GALLANT RESCUE-.- '- Per Press*' Association. AUCTtLAND, August i:L A fire at Takapuna destroyed tho neAvly erected vicarage of St. Peter's Church occupied by tho Rev. Mr Moncton and his family. The vicar endeavoured to get Mr Oldham, aged 80, out of the house, but was overcome by the suffocating smoke. A neighbour, r named .Collins, rushed bravely into the blazing building, picked the old man up bodily and carried him out. The vicarage was insured in the National Office for v£oOQ. \Mr Mqncton lost his valuable library. , *
