ACKNOWLEDGMENTS.
His Worship the Mayor of Ashbur* ton to-day received a letter in the following terms from His Excellency, hard Islington:—"With reference to your telegram of«the 23rd June, I am 1 com-; manded by His Majesty the King td ask you to convey to 'the Ashburton Borough Council and citizens an expression of His Majesty's cordial thanks for their message of loyalty and congratulation on the occasion of his Coronation. : -
Mr John Lambio, chairman of the Ashbnrton County Council, has received the following letter i'rora Lord Islington : ■—"With reference to your tele- , gram of June 22nd, I am commanded by His Majesty the King to ask you. to convey to the people of Ashburton,.
