This matter is a serious one, as it not only affects the animal in a live state, but also prevents the carcases from being dressed with the finish and cleanliness which are an absolute necessity for placing them on the Home Market to the best advantage. In spite of every care, stains are bound to disfigure such carcases, and no amount of. wiping down will remedy this condition, as they cannot avoid, in many cases, injuring the pelts and so incurring fines.
