FOOTBALL.
A SECESSION. (Received August 10, 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, August 10. The New South Wales Football Association under the British Association rules has withdrawn from the Sporting Federation and has adopted a new amateur definition which permits professionals in other branches of sport to, play,as amateurs, provided they are not paid for playing football. All 'players.;.from outside the ICommonwfcalttj are deemed to be amateurs on landing in Australia.
