CHRISTCHURCH GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS.
Per Press Aasnciatioa WELLINGTON, Juno 28. Cabinet to-day passed the plans fo the new Government buildings ii Ohristchurch, and tenders for tin's im portnnt work will be called within til' next day or two. The Hon. R. Me Kenzio has informed Mr T. H. Dave; that the time allowed, for the receip of tenders will be made as short a possible, so that the successful con tractors can get quickly to work am employ any surplus labour that i available. Tho building will be a very largi ono, with a basement and threi stories. The plans indicate that i will bo of a serviceable but not of i highly ornate character. There wil bo throe main entrances — namely, fron Cathedral Square, Worcester street and the road at tho back. It is no now proposed to build m sections, bu to proceed without any interruption.
