SIR JOSEPH WARD'S RETURN.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, September 29. The Hon. J. Carrollj Acting-Prime Minister, received the following message by wireless telegraphy this morning : "H.M.S. Challenger, at sea,—We are six hundred miles from Auckland; and all well. The weather is fine, and we expect to arrive at Auckland at noon on Thursday.— Joseph Ward."
