CLEARING SALE AT MAYFIELD.

The Farmers' Co-operative Association conducted a clearing sale at Mayfield on Wednesday, on account of Mr E. E. Gaulter. There was a large attendance, and the varied entry of exceptionally good live and dead stock was cleared at satisfactory prices. The following are the chief sales: Horses. —Draughts: Gelding, Byrs, £44; mare, aged, £22; do., £20; gelding, £30; unbroken filly, 3yrs, £13. Implements.—Chatham seed cleaner, £5 ss; Planet Junr., 30s; Avery weighing scales, £3; grindstone, 27s 6d; vyce, 27s 6d; anvils, £2 2s 6d, £2 ss; lambs' tail searer, 40s; horse clippers, 40s; single-furrow plough, 355; swamp plough, £14; double-furrow plough, £7; spring tine grubber, £4; disc harrows, £11; tripod harrows, £8 10s; five-leaf tine harrows, £3 15s; roller, £13; broadcast seed-sower, £19; drill, £5 10s; Storrier's ridger, £9; Osborne reaper and binder, £3 10s; grass mower, £2 10s; crusher, £4 10s; chaffcutter (Andrews and Bevan), ~x3 ; windmill and gear (without stand), 255; dray and frame, £8 10s; tip-dray, £5 15s; tanks, 35s and 50s; waggonette, £40; buggy, £24 10s.
