In the dispute in the tailoring .trade 1 before the Conciliation Commissioner j this morniug the workmen asked/for, a new provision stating definitely the holidays for weekly hands,. arid that the minimum wage of £2 10s should bo raised. Tho employers' said the primary matter" for consideration was the desire of employer,? that the log should be done away wiik'and an hourly system substituted. The employees would' not agree, and the -dispute was sent to the Arbitration: Court. ■"•■" ':.-. OHRISTCHURCH, June, 21. The Socialist Scouts held their usual open-air meeting in the Square yesterday afternoon. Mr D. G. Sullivan? presiding. Mr L. R. Wilson spoke on the. political situation in New Zealand at the present time. The following .i-eso-lution was moved by Mr Sullivan;" and seconded by Mr A. Hart (president of the Trades and Labour Council): — " That this meeting strongly, condemns the action of the Government in forcing Mr Hogg's retirement from-the Ministry."
