Tho Premier, accompanied by Lady Ward and Miss Ward, left by the Manuka this evening for Sydney, en route for London, where .Sir Joseph Ward is to attend the Imperial Defence Conference. There was a large crowd to see them off, variously estimated at from 1500 to 2500. A little hostile demonstration took place, but really nothing to speafc of, and it may safely be said that the Premier was' accorded a really hearty send off. As the Manuka moved off from the wharf guns were fired from H.M.S. Pioneer, and rockets from the Government steamer Tutaneliai.
