Per Press Association. ■ PALMERSTON NORTH, June 18. There was a large assemblage at the •social to Mr W. T. Wood to-night. The speakers included Messrs Lawry anS Remington, M.P.'s. The presentation consisted of a medal and cheque for £270. Many eulogistic speeches were made, and ' telegrams were received from the Premier and Ministers. Mr Wood stated that lie would be a candidate at the noxt election. A motion was passed wishing God-speed to Sir Joseph and Lady Ward.
