WELLINSTONi June-18. ; The adjourned cases m which William j and James Ham were charged with 1 bookmaking m Willis street on various, dates, was dealt with by Mr Riddell, S M to-day. The defendants are father and son. William Ham pleaded guilty, and was #ned £3.0 and costs; m default, seven days' imprisonment. In the second charge he was #lso convicted, and fined £1 and costs, or 48 hours' imprisonment. His tather, James Ham, was fined £2 and costs; m default, 48 hours' imprisonment.
