FATAL FIRE.

NAPIER, June 16. Information was received by the police at Hastings to-day that tho school residence at Poranganau was totally destroyed by fire on Tuesday night", and that Mrs Robson, aged about 25 years, the wife of the schoolmaster, perished in the flames. A man named Sutton managed to rescue the boy who was about three years of age, and the only child of the deceased. The husband was away in his workshop some distance to the rear of the house at ,the time, and was unaware of the fire until tho alarm was given by the neighbours.
