POSTPONEMENT OF PARLIAMENT.
A PROTEST,
WELLINGTON, June 15. The Town Hall was packed to the doors . to-night, when a meeting was held to protest against the postponement of Parliament. The speakers were Messrs Herdman, M.P., Fisher, M.P., and Wright, M.P., Dr Newman, "Mayor of Wellington, and Mr J. G. W. Aitken, ex-M.P. The meeting was rather rowdy, it being apparent that many hundreds were there for entertainment. A resolution was adopted protesting against the postponement of the session. At the close of the meeting Mr Aitken suggested that they should march to Parliament Buildings and make a demonstration..' This was taken up m a rather half-hearted fashion. VThe mob went down was stopped at the" gates, where, after a little bother, Mr Fisher .advised them to go home.
