The following report from the High Commissioner., dated London, June 12, lias beeii riSctfiv'e'd by the Department of Industries ;ahd Coimndrce i Frozen Meat.^Muttbn—The mutton niarket is overstocked' and depressed, and is hot likely to recover from the depression for some time. The arrivals from January to May Were 779,473 carcases more than for the same time last year, and large shipments are expected. Canterbury brands, 3Jd to 2icl, according to quality; North Island, 2£d to 2Jd. Lamb—The niarket is weak and inactive, and the excess of arrivals total 495,835 carcases. The weather lately has been very unfavourable to the sale of lamb, and arrivals are likely to be heavy; Canterbury lamb, 4-2 dto 4d; North Island, 4Jd to 3Jd • and Australian -3Jd. Beef—The market is firm, owing to a good demand. Supplies of American chilled beef are small; New Zealand hindquarters, 4£d. Butter;— There is a bettor demand for butter, and the market is quiet but firm; and oh account of bad weather at Home and on the Continent supplies arc smaller. New Zealand, choicest, 105s; Australian, 100s; Danish, Ills; Siberian, 100s. Cheese.—The market is quiet, witli a tendency in favour of buyers. Some holders are forcing sales. New Zealand white, 635; coloured, 64s per cwt. Cocksfoot.—Buyers are not keen to do business in cocksfoot seed, and the market is very dull.
