During the past month workmen have been ongaged in re-grading streets and levelling and repairing footpaths in the Hampstead Town Board district, and the improvements thus effected are being much appreciated by the' ratepayers. The threatening weather on Satur- J day culminated in heavy rain on Sunday morning. A heavy north-west wind prevailed on Sunday night, and, judging by the appearance of the ranges to-day, heavy weather is being experienced in that locality. Mr. Clement Wragge's forecast has proved correct, and the atmospheric disturbance which he named "Ngata" is making its presence known, particularly on the West Coast.
