TRAIN COLLISION.

'- BLENHEIM^ June 14, ; A ; collision occurred at the railway station morning between the goods tram arriving from Picton ami the passenger train waiting to be despatched to" Seddon. It is stated that the driver of. the Picton train had been accustomed to the W.estinghousa brake and did ■noir allow sufficient space for the old brakes to operate. "When the driver of the. Seddon train saw that a collision was.inevitable, he moved his train slowlv,,:.tiff; thereby lessening the force of the -impact. However, serious damage was, done to both trains. The front ■plate of the Picton engine was stove sijVarid the guard over the cow-catcher "was torn off. There were several passengers in the Seddon train, including three ladies, one of whom, Mrs AnSTrews, of Flaxbourne, was severely cut about the face. The other passengers escaped with bruises and a shock.
