■Messrs Friedlander Bros., Ltd., -conducted a land sale at their West Street auction • mart, which was fairly wellattended. Th« goodwill m the estate of the late Francis Arenas m 1000 acres, situated at Hinds,. .7 years unexpired lease, at a yearly rental of £129 3s 4d (equal to 2s 7d per acre) was started .at £2000, and Mr Walter Hill became the purchaser at £3750. The firm offered on account of Mr Cook his property m Cameron and Park Streets, consisting of sections numbered 579, 580 and 581, having frontages on Cameron and Psirk Streets. The dwelling house consists of 8 rooms, witli all necessary outbuildings; also vinery, good orchard and flower garden; the buildings m section 581 consisting of two 4-room cottages. Bidding started at £800, and no further advance being made, the property was withdrawn at that figure.
