CANTERBURY GRAIN TRAFFIC.
The grain grown this season and carried over the railways m Canterbury from February Ist to May 31st aggregated 1,570,000 sacks, as against 850,000 sacks for the same period last year, the increase being 720,000 sacks. The figures quoted do not include, for either year, grain carried from stores at Addington and Christchurch to ships at Lyttelton. There are large quantities of grain still m the country districts awaiting carriage over the railways.
