Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, June 9. At the Addington live stock market to-day, there was a fairly large entry of stock, and a good attendance. Fat cattle showed a further rise; store sheep Were firmer, and fat sheep were weaker m consequence of heavy entry.! Pigs of all classes .showed an easier tendency. Store Slicep—TJie yarding of store; sheep was up to last week's m numbers,, and was mainly composed of hoggets and ewes, with a few lines of wethers. There was a very good demand m consequence of the con-i tinued fine weather, and all descriptions sold at the late level of prices.: Good half bred hoggets (mixed sexes); sold up to 13s, average lines of mixed sexes. 9s to 10s 6d, forward wethers and hoggets to 11s, good. sound-moutfr merino ewes (m lamb). 9s 6d, soundmouth crossbred ewes m good condition 12s "to 12s 6d, aged ewes. 10s to lls, • forward wethers to 12s 6d, and others 10s to lls. Fat Lambs —There was again a large * entry of fat lambs, and the quality, as a whole, was good. Export buyers were operating freely, though the market was not quite so keen. Prices towards the end of the sale, however, showed little change from last week. The general range of prices for prime freezers was 12s to 13s Bd, heavier weights 14s to 15s ldj and light sorts. 10s to lls 6d. Fat Sheep—There was a very heavy yarding of fat sheep, some of which were m the store pens, which'had: to be .-utilised. There was not very keen competition for wethers for export, and prices' showed an easier tendency: Prime fat ewes opened at about last week's rates, but owing to the heavy supply there was a . decline later on> and, all classes showed a drop m prices. Prime wethers ihade 14s to 16s 6d, extra to 17s, lighter lls Id to 13s 10d; prime ewes lls 6d to 13s 4d, medium 9s 6d to lls, aged 7s 6d to 9s, and merino wethers 9s 6d. ! Fat "Cattle—-Theyarding of fat catf lie totalled 298 head, and the'yarding was of good quality, steers forming the larger proportion. There was a improved competition, and prices showed a further rise of about Is per 1001 b. Steers sold at £6 10s, and cow* £.4 10s to £8, equal to-21s G$ to 23s for prime, 19s 6d to 21s for medium, and- 18s to 19s for cow and inferior pcr 11001 b. Veal Calves—-There was an average yarding of real calves, and they sold at 4s 6d to £3, according to size and quality. ' Store Cattle —There was a small entry of inferior store cattle, and the yearlings sold at 16s, 15 to 18-months 335. 2yr heifers £2, and dry cows 20s to £3 10s. r Dairy cows sold at £3 5s to .£lO. Pigs were entered m smaller num-| bers than usual, and the demand for all classes was rather slack, and prices were a little easier. Choppers sold up to £4 ss, large baconers 56s to 625, I and smaller 46s to 535, equal to 4Jd per lb; large porkers 40s to 44s 6d, smaller 32s to 38s, equal to s|d to 6d per lb; large stores 30s to 365, smaller 20s to 255. and weaners 10s 6d to 14s.
