NEW THEATRE FOR WELLINGTON.
WELLINGTON, June 9. The Royal Picture Syndicate, which m the lessee of His Majesty's Theatr,e, intends to build a new theatre on a site m CourtenaJ^ Place, to accommodate 1500. Provision will be made for the erection of a gallery m the future to seat an additional 550. The theatre will be the largest m the dominion. The stage will be 70 feet wide by 55 deep, and the building will be built of brick, of fireproof construction, m the modern Renaissance style, and handsomely upholstered. The cost is estimated at £22,500, and the new theatre will open m March, 1910.
