A meeting, of the Fcildihg branch of the National Defence League was afterwards held, and passed a motion asking the Government to introduce a .system of universal military training for young men.
AUCKLAND, June 5. A public meeting last night, after carrying a resolution 1 m favour of compulsory military training for men, passed a further resolution, on the motion of Mrs Emily Nicol, that the' Government should be asked to introduce a system of universal defence training for young women, and that they should be attached to bearer corps and taiight first aid.
