A DISGRACEFUL SCENE.
AN UNMANLY CROWD.
A most disgraceful scene-■occurred near the Oddfellows' Hall on Saturday evening at a late hour, when two boys of about 14 years of age—who, should have been at home m bed—-weye-being Encouraged to fight by a large crowd of men, who should have known.'better. As it was, however, a ring was formed and the contestants were continually "egged" on by the crowd, whoie applause after 11 o'clock at : night' aroused the whole neighbourhood.: Several respeotable passers-by endeavoured to separate the lads, but efforts m this direction were strenuously objected to by a few bellicose persons in/the mob surrounding the combatants, who subjected the peacemakers to rounds of vulgar and coarse abuse. . .
