A STEAMER ADRIFT.

Per Prees Association. CHRISTCHUROH, June 4. Tho steamer Wootton, which was picked up m Cook Straits on Wednesday night- by the steamer Blenheim, being m a disabled condition, and had to ba let go about eighteen miles south of Pencarrow Head at 7 o'clock yesterday morning m a heavy north-west gale, was signalled at Lyttelton this afternoon. Two steamers —the Holmdale, from Gisborne, and tho Wootton —were reported, asid it was at first thought that the Holmdale had the Wootton m tow. At 330 p.m., however, the signalman at the lighthouse saw that the, Wootton was about a mile and a-half: from' tho Heads, and was coming along on her own engines, the Holmdale; toeing about a"niile astein oj- tlio Wootton.
