REDUCTION IN AUCKLAND
AUCKLAND, June 4. The Auckland City Licensing Committee decided to-night to close the following: hotels: Bricklayers' Arms, m Federal Street, owned by , Campbell, Ehrenfried and Co.; Railway Terminus Hotel, Beach road, lease held by Bannock and Co.; Newton Hotel, KarangaSiaptf road, lease held by Hancock and «Co; - Park Hotel,. Wellesley: Street, lease held by Campbell, Ehrenfried and >Co.; Fitzroy Hotel, Wakefield Street, -owned by the Great Northern Brewery fCompany. The maximum number of lihotels the committee had power to «lose was fourteen the minimum three. ■ • Tb.e brewers estimate the loss as between the value of the places named as hotels "and their value T as unlicensed houses at between £16,000 and £18,000. i NELSON, June 4. The Motueka Licensing Committee to-day' unanimously refused to grant extension of hours till 11 p.m.
