SOUTH RAKAIA ROAD BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING

The usual monthly 'meeting ;of the. South Rakaia Road Board was held on Thursday. Presant : Messrs J. Lambie (chairman), Harrison, Holmes, Magson and Hartnell. ■..'', 'f. '- Pursuant to notice, Mr Harrison moved ..that a general .rate of ] one farthing' m the pound be struck for the year ending the 31st.March, ,1910, m terms of the Road Boards.Md "Ratling Acts, 1908.—Seconded byy .Mr Holmes and carried. Complaint was made about' a waterrace overflow, and it. was decided .to request,the Ashburton County Council to arrange for their ranger to call on ;M.r A J. Magson as soon as possiDie, 'when he would point out what was re--9UMr Holmes reported that, with the clerk, he had inspected the three-cham road- i plantation, ■ and, interviewed Messrs Wilkinson'and Doig, who would be prepared- to,;rent .that ,portion fronting their land if a good boundary ence w^re erected ,and;tne g^»; out—lt was decided, to. do this,;- and,, tbe'clerk was instructed to communicated the Upper Ashburton |Road Board and ask if it.would, consent to the arrangement as far as its frontage Wfhe°Sld A.
