SOUTHLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS.
INVERCARGILL, June 3. The finals of the Southland Boxing Association's amateur championships resulted as follow: Heavy-weight, P. Ruston (Dunedin) defeated Ryan, the New Zealand Champion; middleweight, A. C. Cooper (Dunedin) defeated J. Hughes (Invercargill); lightweight, AY. Taylor (Ocean Beach) defeated J. Fulton (Dunedin); featherweight, F. C. Jarvis (Invercargill) defeated R. Kaill; bantam-weight, W. Baldwin (Invercargill) defeated C. Stewart (Timaru).
