ABOUT AN ENCLOSURE.

To the Jiiuitor. Sir, —I heard on Saturday that Mr Albert Roberts was giving me fits m your paper but I did not see his letter until to-day. Ido not mind the rude question m.the least; some time back a gentleman said I was " impertinent." Ido not insinuate that Mr Roberts is; but as he is not a "licensed angler" he has .no call to crumble. In my innocence 1 thought by pointing out thnt the County Council had purchased Si acres and built a brick house on it for the use of the public, including Mr Roberts, would have been sufficient. Now, to o-ivc Mr Roberts a show, if he will come to me with a sovereign or one pound note, I will give him-.a-license and then lie can go through the gate and even nut a hut on the land, and his title will.be as good as that of any other gentleman who owns cno. I believe they are all satisfied. I will answer all'Mr Roberta's questions with pleasure if he will first answer mine put to.him herein. I have just as much right to enquire of him as he has of me, neither of us having, the slightest claim to the other's property. Mr Roberts has a house on the west side J of the line. "Who found the money to pay for the land it is built on, Mr Roberts? And is it really yours or is •it mortgaged ? Is it for sale and what is the price? It is too small to cut up for a syndicate or I might consider it m that light. I think until he replies to these questions I have said enough m the meantime. I can answer all his questions initc satisfactorily if he will qualify m gft a reply by first- taking a license. A. H. STTTOY.
