FLEMINGTON, February 27. The threatening weather disappeared by_ the time the first race was run, and bright sunshine prevailed. The track was heavy owing to the rain through the week. The Newmarket Handicap provided a most exciting finish. Soultline, on weighing in, looked fit to continue the strangle. The results! were: Hurdles—Aringa 1, Kia Ora 2, Alert 3, Dream 4.
