ADDINGTON WORKSHOPS.
THE ENQUIRY.
At a function on board the Koputai in Otago harbour on Friday, the Hon. IJ. A. Millar, Minister of Railways, | announced the personnel of the commission. He stated that those who had been appointed by the Government' were thoroughly qualified men, and it would be their duty to obtain all information as to the method of working and workmanship, and report to Li to Government. Their report would satisfy the public of New Zealand. They were absolutely free from all Government interests. They had no axe to grind, and their duties were to report matters exactly as they found them. He hoped that their report would show that the workmanship and methods of working prevailing at Addington were satisfactory. He would not like to think that the Government employees were guilty of shirking their work. All they wanted was a fair day's work for a fair day's pay. The Minister" announced that- the commission would ■■•..-' •iruiry early in March.
