When speaking to a Guardian reporter about the nomenclature of the dominion, Mr Robert McJSab, in pointing out that the original names given by the early explorers had been xlirown aside, mentioned that only two—Cape Maria Van Dieman and Three Kings-— of the numerous names given to coastal features by Tasman had been retained. Bo instanced several cases in which later day names had been given, specially referring to Cape Egmont, which if L'asman had been fairly treated, would have been known as Cape Peter: Boureers. I
