THE GOVERNMENT AND TERRORISTS.
Por Press Associacion.—Copyright. ' (Received February 27, 8.10 a.m.) ST. PETERSBURG, February 26. Conflicting accounts are current as to the fate of the terrorist Azeff. Some state that ho has been murdered in - Russia, while others declare that he is hidden there. A member of the Duma read a letter from a police-official, lauding himself for founding the Terrorist organisation and for acts including the murder of the Grand Duke Sergius. M. Stolypin declared that AzefF was an ordinary police agent, to whom revolutionists ascribed legendary qualities and colossal crimes. He denied the possibility of Azeff participating in the murder of M. Plevho and Governor Ufa. After Azeff had joined the central revolutionary committee not a single political murder had been committed, [ and there was nothing but a revolutionist's word to show that Azeff had ever participated in Terrorist acts. The Government would relentlessly punish agents who incited to crimes', and as long as the Terror lasted the spy service must continue. Lopukhrn, who betrayed Aaeff to the . revolutionarieswould shortly be tried.
