ANNUAL SHOW.
The show was well patronised during the evening, when the display under gaslight was most effective. Gates's string band provided a musical programme, which considerably added to the attractiveness of the exhibition. The entries totalled 450, a number much m excess of last year's record. The takings, including £3 for refreshments and a similar sum m the guessing competitions, amounted to about £18, "which is considered satisfactory. Much praise is due to the lady workers, who did so much for the success of the show. As to future exhibitions, the committee would be wise m providing that the judging should be completed at an earlier hour. .The vegetables this year, it may be mentioned, were shown m the ante-room of the hall, and the entries .were creditable to the producers. Mr W. A. Carpenter, of Governor's Bay, had (on exhibition only) a very fine and numerous collection of gladioli, which came m for considerable admiration. The following completes our report:
