LONDON, February 25. In tlio House of Commons Earl Percy's amendment to the Address m Reply was negatived by 336 to 118. In reply to Sir E. Carson's challenge, Mr John Dillon declared that the Nationalist members of the House of Commons were willing to go to the disturbed areas and denounce and put down crime if they were authorised, to promise the people that their legitimate grievances would be'remedied. He added that an effectual way to suppress outrage would be to grant Home Rule to Ireland. Sir Asquith. m reply to Mr Balfour'e strong protest against the prevalence of organised crime, said that the Government recognised its duty to enforce the law m troubles areas, while aiming to bring the Land Act more into harmony with the requirements of the I people.
