BURNSIDE STOCK MARKET.
DUNEDIN, February 24. Cattle.—Two hundred were yarded, including a good entry of medium quality. Prices were easier. Best bullocks made £8 5s to £9 ss, extra to £11, medium £7 5s to £7 15s, inferior £5 10s to £6 10s, best cows and heifers £5 5s to £6 ss, medium £4 10s to £5, inferior £3 5s to £3 15s. Sheep.—237s were yarded. The sale opened with prices slightly behind last week's rates, and later on prices dropped about Is 6d per head. Best wethers made 18s to 17s 6d, extra prime up to 19s 3d, medium 14s to 15s, inferior and light 11s to 13s 6d, best ewes 14s to 15s. medium J2s to 13s, inferior 9s to 11s. Lambs—l2oo were yarded, and these sold at easier rates, freezing buyers not operating. There was a big yarding of best lambs, which made 12s to 13s 6d, extra 15s, medium 10s 6d to Us 6d. Pigs.—Thirty were yarded. Only a couple of pens of suckers and the same number of stores were brought forward. Prices were on a par with those ruling last week. Suckers made up to 16s 6d, slips up to 20s, fat pigs £2 10s.
